Cid Rewanz was an adventurer and had been believed to be Abel's father. For the first 83 strips, it had been unclear whether he or May Rewanz is the Cubi parent. However, when Abel's Cubi heritage came to light, it had been revealed that Cid had been killed and replaced by the Cubi Aniz. The switch happened before Abel's conception, as Aniz explicitly states that Abel is his son.
